Included with this post you will find a link to an article which recently appeared in the “Oil and Gas Facilities” magazine published by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). The article was written by members of the Contek staff. The article goes through the approach that Contek uses when doing both consequence and risk based siting studies.
As you may know, siting studies following API 752/753 are required under OSHA and the EPA under PSM and RMP. The API standards do not detail out a specific methodology for such studies, but instead presents general guidelines for conducting such studies. This paper fill the gap by presenting a very detailed approach to conducting siting studies using a fictitious example facility.
